Bank robbers. Chopsocky martial arts action. Murderous Aztec Vampires. A sexy snake woman. This vulgar, graphically violent, black-humor-laced but action-packed offering from Quentin Tarantino contains a little bit of everything as it tells the exciting tale of a vicious bankrobber, Seth, and his whiny, mentally-unstable brother, Richard, who helps him bust out of jail. Together they shoot and maim their way towards the Mexican border. Before they go, they take a hostage, Jacob Fuller, a faithless cynical preacher who has never gotten over the accidental death of his wife. He is accompanied by his two teen-age kids. They steal Fuller's RV and once over the border head for the Titty Twister, a super scuzzy bar where they are to meet Carlos who has promised to keep them safe in exchange for their loot. Unfortunately, they soon learn that the bar is really the front for a ring of ancient Aztec vampires who want to suck their blood and turn them into zombies. — Sandra Brennan

Story Synopsis:
From Dusk Till Dawn is a non-stop blood-and-guts vampire spree. When the Gecko brothers-disturbed sex-offender Richard (QTarantino) and thief Seth (Clooney)-escape from prison and head for the border, they leave a bloody trail behind them. On their way, they kidnap the Fullers-a former minister (Keitel) and his two kids, Kate ( Lewis) and Scott (Liu)-ending in a seedy strip bar filled with vampires. The Geckos and the Fullers engage in an all-night battle resulting in death, gore and strewn body parts.

DVD Picture:
Like the previously released DVD, this 1.85:1 DVD is not anamorphically enhanced, and picture quality is not all that impressive. The picture has a stylized look that is a bit dark and drab, with warm overtones throughout the color scheme. When the movie reaches the bar south of the border, the color scheme is more vibrant with the neon lights and bloodshedding. Distractions, noticed more in the first part of the film, include aliasing problems, edge enhancement and occasional pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack for this DVD is the same as for the previous offering. The sound can be rather loud and brittle at times. The soundfield is inconsistent in terms of spaciousness, with moderate to aggressive surround activity instances but also a nearly complete collapse to the front channels. There is some ample deep bass activity throughout with .1 LFE engagement. (Perry Sun)
