Story Synopsis:
No, Dinosaurus! is not an Ed Wood production...but it’s close! And that means great 1960s-era monster movie fun. During construction of a harbor off the coast of a Caribbean island, a dynamite blast uncovers the frozen (in the Caribbean!) bodies of a brontosaurus, a tyrannosaurus and a cave man. Well, the giant beasts are struck by lightning and COME BACK TO LIFE!!! Oh, the cave guy comes back to life, too, and has some fun adventures running around the jungles with an island boy. It’s just too much fun! So stir up some Tang, unwrap a couple of Twinkies, and have some Saturday afternoon fun.
DVD Picture:
According to the packaging, the anamorphically enhanced DVD was transferred from the original CinemaScope negative. The result is a picture that is quite clean for its age. Images are sharp and detailed, though background clarity is limited. Some source element artifacts and scratches are apparent. For its age, the picture looks quite good, though wanting in some dimension. The reel change cues are present.
Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital mono soundtrack is poor in fidelity with distortion prevalent throughout. There is also noticeable background noise. However, dialogue is presented at a fairly comfortable listening level.
