Includes Fox’s abysmal before-the-menu ad, director’s commentary, star Elizabeth Hurley and producer Trevor Albert commentary, two featurettes, two scoring sessions that give viewers an idea of what actually goes on when a soundtrack is recorded for a film, an extended basketball sequence, the theatrical trailer and TV Spots, THX Optimode test, and a stills gallery. There is an excellent hidden goodie found by clicking around on the second page of the Special Features menu page. There are also extras available if you own a Nuon-enhanced player. |

Story Synopsis:
Based on the 1967 movie of the same name written by Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, Bedazzled shows us, that we should be careful what we wish for...because we might get it. Super-nerd Elliot Richards (Fraser) falls for co-worker Allison (O’Connor), but the feelings aren’t mutual. But along comes The Devil (Hurley) who offers Elliot seven wishes in return for his soul. Trouble is, his wishes aren’t working out quite as he’d expected. (Laurie Sevano)
DVD Picture:
The THX® digitally mastered and anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a picture that should surely delight in all aspects of visual quality. Images are sharp and finely detailed, with excellent clarity and definition. Colors are rich and nicely balanced with accurate fleshtones and deep blacks. The devilish reds are bold and solid, with no distracting breakup. Fine details shimmer very infrequently, but there is no distracting pixelization. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The listening experience offered by this Dolby® Digital 5.1 soundtrack is generally satisfying, though also sometimes inconsistent. The soundstage is usually balanced toward the screen, except for several scenes in which the split surrounds come alive and the listening space dramatically opens up, such as in Chapter 8. Much of the sonic presentation is dialogue-oriented, and voices sound reasonably natural with the exception of a bit of mid-bass emphasis. Screen-based imaging is amply wide and deep, and low frequency extension is typically notable with some impressive moments consisting of satisfying impact with .1 LFE utilization. This is an enjoyable soundtrack that is well recorded, albeit not one of the best in terms of sonic engagement. (Perry Sun)
