Story Synopsis:
With more skills than 007 and a better bed than Austin Powers’, “Our Man Flint” is the man they call upon when the fate of the world is threatened. Based on a story by Hal Fimberg, James Coburn stars as Derek Flint: a spy working for the intelligence agency Z.O.W.I.E. When his fellow agents begin dropping like flies, Flint discovers that the wicked G.A.L.A.X.Y. organization is behind the killings. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.35:1 DVD exhibits a slightly soft and dated picture, but one with generally pleasing detail. Colors are definitely reflective of the ’60s, with slightly orange or brownish fleshtones, but otherwise hues are well balanced with deep blacks. The picture can appear smeared and undefined at times. Contrast seems a bit low, but shadow delineation is satisfactory. The source element is revealing of minor artifacts and scratches. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital 2.0 soundtrack is big fat mono. When Pro Logic®-decoded, the audio is properly placed in the center channel. Dialogue is presented at a comfortable listening level, and background noise is notably low. As expected, the dated fidelity and distortion are the main limiting factors of this soundtrack. (Perry Sun)
