Story Synopsis:
In "Barbershop 2," Calvin (Ice Cube) is Back In Business and planning to keep his family’s salon open and busy in order to pass it on to his own son one day. But changes are coming to the neighborhood, and when Nappy Cutz Salons opens and threatens to take his customers away from him, Calvin has some quick thinking to do if he wants to keep his little shop alive. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD picture exhibits images that are generally sharp and detailed, though sometimes the picture looks a bit soft or slightly smeared. Colors are well-balanced, with accurate fleshtones, rich hues, and deep blacks. Contrast and shadow delineation give the picture a natural appearance. Pixelization contributes a bit of a “digital” quality, but edge enhancement is rarely a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
This Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel soundtrack presentation includes a lively mix of dialogue-heavy content with a fair share of up-tempo music. Music is strategically placed to not only effectively move the story from scene-to-scene, but it’s used to set the tone of the story throughout. Dialogue sounds very accurate and very natural with proper reverberation and echo in the confines of the barbershop. Overall, this is a very pleasing soundtrack to experience. (Jeffrey Kern)
