Story Synopsis:
The third (and final?) entry in the series, From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman’s Daughter, is actually a prequel that promises to reveal “how this frightening saga all began.” Outlaw Johnny Madrid (Leonardi) was able to thwart the hangman’s (Morrison) noose and is now on the lam with the executioner’s swarthy and sexy (and half-human) daughter Esmeralda (Celi). (Laurie Sevano)

DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits stylized hues (similar to the other titles in the series) which affect all aspects of the color scheme in the brighter scenes. Detail is wanting, as images are soft, smeared and considerably plugged-up. Pixelization and fine shimmering details are apparent. After dusk, as the film progresses to nighttime, fleshtones are well-balanced and hues are rich and vibrant, with deep blacks. Shadow delineation is nicely rendered in these darker scenes. Occasionally the film changes to monochromatic sepia hues. (Suzanne Hodges)

Soundtrack:
The soundtrack in Dolby® Digital 5.1-channel will surely impress with very active dimensional engagement and prodigious low-end utilization. The split surrounds figure prominently at times and the soundstage as a whole is effectively energized at the appropriate moments to significantly heighten the action and intensity. Fidelity is very good and the tonal character seems neutral, so re-equalization should not be necessary. There’s certainly plenty to sink into this soundtrack with the bass, offering occasionally intense impact with extension to below 25Hz with significant .1 LFE activity. (Perry Sun)
